Co-chaired the statewide urban renewal oversight committee and experienced with working through contentious issues to gain consensus, creating and implementing a work plan among disparate groups including lobbyists, legislators, and various stakeholders. Selected to participate in the Legislative Process and Governance Professional Fellows Program in New Zealand. Hosted two women from NZ in Albany, then I was the lucky dog who got to travel to NZ for three weeks.
Engaged with city and regional leaders, learned about local governance, challenges (earthquakes) and their work to respect and include the Maori native people into policy-making at all levels.
